Description
X-Factor #122: Gathering the Hounds
In the second part of the “Faces of Truth” storyline, X-Factor faces off against Sabretooth and his new team of “hounds,” a group of savage mutants who have been brainwashed by Apocalypse.
The issue opens with X-Factor investigating a series of murders in New York City. The victims have all been savagely mauled, and there are bite marks on their bodies that match Sabretooth’s.
X-Factor soon tracks down Sabretooth to an abandoned warehouse, where they find him with his new team of hounds. The hounds are a group of powerful mutants who have been brainwashed by Apocalypse to serve him. They include:
- Wild Child: A mutant with the ability to transform into a savage beast.
- Mongoose: A mutant with the ability to control the minds of animals.
- Feral: A mutant with the ability to transform into a were-cat.
- Riptide: A mutant with the ability to create powerful vortexes.
X-Factor and the hounds engage in a brutal battle, but X-Factor is eventually overwhelmed. Just when it seems like all hope is lost, the X-Men arrive to help.
The combined forces of X-Factor and the X-Men are able to defeat Sabretooth and his hounds. However, the battle takes a heavy toll on both teams.
In the end, X-Factor is victorious, but they are left with a new understanding of the threat that Apocalypse poses. They know that he will not stop until he has conquered the world, and they are determined to stop him.
“Gathering the Hounds” is a well-written and action-packed issue that features some great character development. The issue also does a good job of setting up the upcoming conflict between X-Factor and Apocalypse.
If you are a fan of X-Factor or Apocalypse, then you should definitely check out this issue. It is a great example of what makes these characters so popular.
